Updated Digitized Church Records for Humacao, Puerto Rico 1784 – 1966

I initially posted about Humacao church records, Dulce Nombre de Jesus, back in 2016 when FamilySearch had made just one of the films available.  The initial post still remains on the website but this post includes the entire collection to make it easier to navigate now that all of the church’s films are online.

To ensure that everyone sees this post and not just the other one, I’ll add the URL for this post to the old post.

The indexes are done in book order and by years and the pages are in great condition. When it comes to “Indistintamente”, these refer to people who include everyone, doesn’t matter whether they are pardos, esclavos, or blancos. This is the first time seeing these types of books for Puerto Rico so I found it quite interesting. These books also have their own index which is why I had to separate the books for Baptisms to provide clarification.

Indexes

Baptisms

Pardos, Morenos, Libres, & Esclavos

Indistintamente

Blancos

Todos (All)

Confirmations

Marriages

Deaths

There are obviously many books missing and we can tell by the fact that the death books that start in 1784 is actually book 5 and not book 1. Hopefully, these books exist back in Puerto Rico but like many, they may have been destroyed.
